When importing auto parts, you also need to complete relevant forms, such as CBP Form 7501 and NHTSA-DOT HS-7 declaration form, as well as EPA Form 3520-1 for engines, to ensure compliance with customs, safety and emissions regulations.

3. Europe: Unified regulations and certification system

After World War II, in order to promote international trade and technological exchanges, the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe developed a unified set of automobile regulations. These regulations require contracting countries to adopt unified automobile and parts certification standards and mutually recognize each other's certification results. This system greatly simplifies the international automobile certification process and promotes free trade.

In Europe, the European Union (EU) regulates cars and accessories through a series of regulations. For example, Regulation (EU) 2018/858 is aimed at the certification and market supervision of cars, trailers and their parts. It requires that all vehicles and accessories sold in the EU must pass type approval (Type Approval) and obtain the E-Mark mark. Japan's automobile technical regulations are based on the Road Vehicle Act as the legal basis, with the road vehicle safety standards as the core, and are legal. Japan's automobile standards are formulated under the auspices of the Japan Industrial Standards Investigation Committee and are based on Japan's industrial standardization. These regulations and standards require that automotive parts must meet corresponding quality requirements during the design, manufacturing and use processes to ensure product reliability and stability.

Similar to the United States and the European Union, Japan also imposes strict regulations on imported auto parts. Importers need to understand and comply with Japan's import and export regulations, environmental regulations and quality standards to ensure that products meet the relevant requirements of the Japanese market.
